Low cost reconstruction of a flat from the 1950s in the historical centre of Bratislava. Originally, a three-room flat was of a good internal plan. The only disadvantages were an unproportional size of the entrance hall and an isolated kitchen and living room. Creating a new home for a young couple, we have opened the kitchen, the entrance hall and the living room. In this way, an open and fluent space with a large wooden table in the centre became the midpoint of the life in the appartment.
We have used an authentic and qualitative range of materials. The massive oak on the floor unifies the space, with the exception of the bathroom where a tropical wood IPE is used. Instead of ceramic tiles, we have chosen white mosaic and the concrete on the walls.
