McKinnon and Harris, a Richmond VA based furniture manufacturer's NYC showroom in the Decoration & Design Building on E 59th St in Manhattan. Taking a cue from the existing arched entry, the long space is organized with a series of three barrel vaults. The other leg of the showroom is partitioned with an enfilade of artificial skylights. Aside from these simple moves, the materials and detailing are subdued: large slabs of warm limestone and white walls provide a museum quality setting to showcase the high quality and design of the furniture.
