As soon as the family - a couple
of doctors and a small son - moved to the apartment in Curitiba, Brazil, they
invited the young architect Guilherme Torres for a wide renovation.
The
property of 600 sqm had a social area with limited circulation and weak illumination.
The architect proposed to eliminate walls aiming to create a wide and luminous
living room. In the rectangular space, travertine marble and macassar ebony were
used as a timeless base to receive the design furniture.
The hall was designed as a box
covered with macassar ebony and it hides the circulation doors and the
lavatory. The living room was divided by a 7m long sofa, that
allows sitting on both sides. That was the alternative to enjoy the privileged
view of a municipal park a few hundred meters away
The Fifties dinner table was designed by the
architect and it translates his contemporary spirit for this proposal.
