Our project area is Suçıktı village of Gönen district of Balıkesir province. We designed and implemented this hotel in a way that respects natural beauty and local culture. The main purpose here was to create a living space that the Dolgun family could use for generations by integrating energy-saving technologies using environmentally friendly natural materials, and also to build a building where they could continue their accommodation activities for the foundation they planned to establish. While our hotel serves as a small boutique hotel with 11 rooms, it is also a large enough house for the Dolgun family.
When we look at our building from the entrance of our parcel, we crowned it with a roof with bay windows and wide eaves because it reflects the structure of the village and our traditional culture. Using the elevation difference on the land, we placed the building in the middle of the parcel. In this way, we gained an extra floor even though half of it was buried in the ground. We created the necessary technical volumes and warehouses for the hotel in the areas buried in the ground on the basement floor. We located the staff and manager rooms in the open areas. On the ground floor there is a reception, office, common room, easily accessible rooms for disabled individuals and a kitchen. On the upper floor, we have normal rooms that can benefit from the view.
