Complete remodel of the founding and world flagship store of French jewelry company Mauboussin in only 8 construction weeks. About 2500sft of retail space with additional back of house. Located on prestigious Place Vendome in Paris. New showroom and client service spaces, inclusive of private VIP room, office space and safe room. The new make-over transforms the store into a contemporary shopping environment offering 2 different shopping experiences: 1.The classic sit down scenario is staged in an exposed brick loft featuring oversized comfortable French fauteuils and sofas on rich hand woven carpets and sparkling glass beaded ceilings. 2. A sales bar setup for quick turnarounds and direct purchases made from absolute white granite and set against an exposed brick wall featuring a hand-painted wall graffiti by NY based artist Jay Lohman. The double height space is dominated by a large decorative fiber optics chandelier by UK based artist Sharon Marston. Diamonds are shown exceptionally in a dark black mirror room and bridal jewelry can be shopped in a heavenly white space featuring, white feathers, satin moldings and mother of pearl satin covered furniture in contrast with white washed raw brick walls. The space doubles in size through the illusion of a mirrored wall along its center. The brand's goal was to reposition itself with a younger, more cosmopolitan customer. The influence of street culture was a conscious choice to break with the barriers of the classically restrained luxury environments in the immediate neighborhood and to provoke and set the stage for re-thinking preconceived notions of what luxury is today. The store opened its doors on September 11, 2010.
