Mattar Station takes it name from the Mattar Trees found in the area. Located at the intersection of Merpati and Mattar Road, it serves an intermediate zone between dense commercial and suburban residential areas. Two entrances join the station to residential estates, schools, commercial buildings, as well as Masjid Sallim Mattar Mosque and Macpherson Community Centre. The station exterior features three tonalities of brown, with the earthy tones following into the station’s interior. Here, focus shifts to the aluminium panel ceiling, that comes complete with accents of staggered strips.
