Located in Shenzhen’s Futian CBD, with views toward the greenery of Lotus Hill and in close proximity to the Guan Shanyue Art Museum, this project is conceived as a “headquarters immersed in a park.” With a forward-looking vision for workplace environments, the design embraces the principles of human care, sustainability, technology, professionalism, vitality, simplicity, and experimentation. The goal is to cultivate a healthy, collaborative, and inclusive community that empowers designers. The project has been awarded WELL Platinum and LEED Gold certifications, underscoring its commitment to environmental and human wellbeing.
Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows bring the lush surrounding greenery into the interior, while a palette of muted hues and natural materials fosters a relaxed, organic atmosphere. Departing from the conventional office cubicle layout, 75% of workstations are positioned by the windows for optimal views. Ergonomic seating and a micro-community workplace concept further enhance wellbeing and collaborative efficiency.
Transparency and equality are woven into the design through extensive use of glass and a decentralized spatial strategy. The founders’ offices are fully open, and communal zones—including flexible multi-purpose areas, intimate meeting rooms, a camping-inspired lounge and cat café—support diverse work modes and creative exchange. Renewable sponge stools, the shell-based Tide Table, and door handles crafted from reclaimed stone reflect a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability.
Through efficient circulation planning across three floors, the project seamlessly integrates work, meeting, leisure, reception, and exhibition spaces. More than a workplace, it serves as a catalyst for inspiration and co-creation, articulating Matrix Design’s ethos of openness, equality, and inclusivity.
