CLIENT BRIEF
The client, created as a merger of marketing agencies, wanted a strong branded design statement to unify the firm and a place to encourage cross communication in order to drive corporate culture and success. With a limited budget, the design of the lobby and café were the focus. Branding was central to the solution.
DESIGN SOLUTION
Reposition the reception into a new lobby, creating a more impressive entry with architectural scale. A new Café Workplace adjacent to Reception facilitates employee engagement and provides collaborative workspaces. A cohesive Agency design layer featuring graphics highlights the beautiful clean space.
RECEPTION
A 30-ft high space with abundant natural light was the perfect setting to establish the brand. The architecture of the space provides an exclamation point for staff and clients on arrival: “This is a significant Agency!” Large, spherical lighting fixtures are perfectly in scale. Large white wall paneling (a clean backdrop) allows the bright colours of the Agency logos to pop. The warm tones of the Reception desk and wood wall paneling provide a pleasant sense of tactile comfort.
CAFÉ WORKPLACE
The Agency’s hub is loaded with character and prominent graphics. It is an easy place to be with multiple settings for work, client meetings, training and socializing — table seating, diner booths, communal high top tables, individual seating and bar seating. Agency creative staff contributed the collaborative graphics ranging from the iconic (Muhammad Ali) to the fanciful (birds hoisting the elevator). The branding through graphics creates punch and character!
