After a competitive selection process, JAI was selected as the architect and interior designer for the renovations to Anderson Hall, Maryville College’s iconic classroom building, constructed in 1870.
JAI developed a full academic program strategy based on needs and priorities established through meetings with the faculty and administration of Maryville College. Departmental adjacencies, security, visitor and student circulation patterns and classroom/faculty adjacencies were all studied along with significant infrastructure redesign of mechanical, electrical, communication and data systems for all three levels of Anderson Hall.
Exterior renovations, including a new outdoor classroom, have been sensitively planned to ensure compliance with the original building’s exterior and to meet the State of Tennessee’s Historic Preservation Guidelines.
