Leake Hall, a new residence hall at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), adds much needed beds for the ever expanding needs of students who want to live on campus as part of their experience. The new building accommodates students with dynamic common area spaces on the first floor including a black box performance space, artist studios, gallery space, multifunctional space, as well as a tiered lecture hall. There is even a late night dining option for students with evening classes.
The tight, urban site is located within Baltimore’s Bolton Hill neighborhood. Leake Hall is contextual to the neighborhood while embracing a more modern aesthetic that is found elsewhere on MICA’s campus.
