The land on which stands the building is the result of parcelling of a property already built. The area that results is small in size and residual but of considerable interest with regard to its location. It is at the side of the valley Sementina at the exact point where the dyke system stone ends to give way to a system of embankments and where the public road stops along the river to go into the built fabric of the country.
The building designed in the first instance by the purchaser as a single family home, turns, almost immediately, in a semidetached house. This allows the owner to rent a small apartment (2 ½) on the ground floor in order to support the economics of operation and at the same time, allows the expansion of the main apartment future that will go from the current two bedrooms ( appropriate size to the current needs of the client) to three bedrooms.
The project is parallel to the river by releasing as much as possible the space between the house and the levee. The ground floor opens onto this space looking for a strong relationship with the stone wall that becomes the real limit of the living area.
The main apartment is on the first and second floors. The wall of the river is visually bypassed and the space opens through the double height terrace, in front of the picturesque surroundings.
The particularities of the context does not allow the project to maintain an exclusive relationship with the river and its embankments. The presence of the road in fact requires that the volume of my knowledge taken into account. The facade facing the street is designed to be a great opening, leaning on its axis of symmetry, it opens towards the mountain. This way you create a street front that directs the entire volume on the public space.
