The swimming pools municipal complex of Marinha Grande is part of the Urban Plan of the city. The available lot is located within a wooded area, surrounded by a complex of sports fields with low volumetric presence. The equipment proposed has a reduced scale, deploying on a continuous sheet of water surrounding the entire outer volume, in order to highlight their volume and enhance their function.The compact polyhedral volume adapts to different functional needs: the two plans of glass on the bigger facades grow up from the water allowing the sunlight to penetrate deep inside the building, bathing the entire pools space uniformly. On two opposite sides, the plans of glass lean to the level of the outer surface, ensuring the accessibility.The result enhances the scenic dimension of the building, loose from the terrain and placed into a position of highlights, guaranteeing the urban scale of the public facility itself.
