The Marina Bay Financial Centre offers a breath-taking blend of crystalline towers and open spaces clustered around a stunning waterfront park
The Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) Phase I accommodates two towers of prime Grade A office space, one residential tower (Marina Bay Residences), and retail space in Marina Bay Link Mall.
MBFC employs a crystalline architectural language to blend dissimilar program elements into an integrated assemblage. The crystal forms, clad in heavily tinted low-E glass with high shading coefficient, create a strong profile. Their faceted surfaces break up the massing of the individual buildings by reflecting sunlight in different ways. The towers are oriented to maximise views of Marina Bay – a vibrant urban room and a new focal point for the downtown district.
One of the towers rises above a low podium, while the other stands free. Between them, a city park covers a below-grade retail mall, which is connected to Singapore’s multimodal transportation network. The commercial component is connected by covered walkways and contains retail spaces at grade.
Office Tower 1 culminates in an open-air rooftop, where a restaurant sits within a bamboo garden and offers views of the bay and the city’s civic core. Projecting horizontal louvres on the office towers provide shade.
