This 3500 seat baseball stadium is the gateway to the Richard E. Lindner Varsity Village. Taking advantage of natural topography, the seating forms an amphitheater in the existing hillside. Raising the press box on pilotis and placing locker rooms and team facilities below the bleachers create an open, unobstructed setting, affording passersby views into the life and activity within. A brick base visually grounds the complex and extends the context of the surrounding campus while the press box's zinc and aluminum superstructure reinforces the lightness and openness of the stadium.
glaserworks worked closely with Hargreaves Associates, the University Master Planner, to extend a network of handicapped accessible routes through the stadium, further integrating it into the campus.
