MARGARITAVILLE
DESTIN, FLORIDA
Nestled among luxury yachts, small local fishing boats, and grand party boats that dot the beautiful Harborwalk Village Marina in Destin, stands Jimmy Buffett’s newest food, beverage, retail and entertainment destination. . . Margaritaville. This unique complex, inspired by the locale’s origin as “The Luckiest Fishing Village in the World,” takes on a bustling Golf Coast boathouse vibe. A weathered wooden fishing boat, a souvenir of an especially memorable day on the water, hangs from the sun bleached rafter as a replica of Jimmy’s seaplane… the Albatross, floats overhead.
Patrons arriving via the boardwalk or by boat can grab a table on one of the restaurants many decks jutting over the water, or kick back in one of the antique wooden booths. The particular lucky guests may snare a seat in the Margaritaville Buoy Booth complete with solar panels and a gently pulsating beacon that guides wandering wayfarers safely through the Gulf waters. Large windows make up the majority of the walls on both the first and second floor dining areas and, when the weather cooperates, they open up completely, turning the space into ‘open air seating’ on the harbor’s emerald green waters. Providing spectacular views to the marina and the coast’s famous white sand beaches.
If you’re looking for a great meal or the most comfortable spot in Destin to hang out, this is the place. Several unique bars such as the “Chill Bar,” can be discovered as guests wander throughout. The space may be rustic in nature but when it comes to catching a game it’s all state-of-the-art. HDTVs are mounted throughout the establishment.
Landshark Lookout, perched on an outdoor deck 30 feet above the dock, has to be the most desirous place to relax and watch the sunset on the Coast. If you’re in a hurry, the “Margaritas-To-Go” pick-up window on the Boardwalk is your stop. But before you leave, don’t forget to stop by the “Everything But Sand” Margaritaville retail shop replete with merchandise suited to the “free and easy lifestyle” that both Destin and Margaritaville are so well known for!
