Marcia Leal Studio is a hair studio located in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The project consists of the interior renovation of a compact commercial space designed to support the daily routine of a single professional while offering a welcoming and well-organized environment for clients.
The spatial layout is structured around a large custom-made central table, which acts as the main organizing element of the project. This element defines circulation, waiting areas, and workspaces, allowing all functions to coexist within an open plan while maintaining visual continuity and clear spatial hierarchy.
Material selection plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere of the studio. A continuous ceramic floor extends throughout the space, providing visual unity and durability. The central table, made of brushed terracotta quartzite, introduces material weight and tactile contrast, while a ceramic brick screen filters natural light and creates subtle transitions between different areas.
Existing structural elements, including concrete beams and columns, were preserved and left exposed, reinforcing the project’s material honesty and connection to the original structure. Wooden furniture and carefully selected pieces complement the interior, reflecting the client’s identity and supporting everyday use.
The result is a contemporary hair studio that balances functionality, material consistency, and spatial clarity, creating an environment that enhances both professional workflow and user experience.
