Manna is a 2,100 SF Modern Asian cuisine restaurant located in downtown Teaneck, NJ. The overall concept is to create a sleek contemporary formal appearance that focuses on simple minimalistic elements. The space has a limited range color palette consisting mostly of a white minimalist interior with bold green accented features. Nature permeates deeply into the space by way of a large open glass storefront and an open atrium. The atrium contains a bamboo courtyard that seeks to immerse the restaurant patrons within the context of a natural Asian woodland as they dine. The space is adapted for both pick-up and eat-in functions. There is ample public seating provided for restaurant patrons as well as office and storage space for the employees. A new storefront facade and entry has been designed to increase the light and natural transparency of the seating area. The restaurant serves a rich menu of Asian foods and frozen yogurt. The owner’s vision is to create a lucrative franchise of Asian cuisine restaurants throughout the Metro-urban area.MUS served as the Architect of Record and was responsible for the design, construction documentation, filing, and construction administration for the project. MUS also provided identity and branding concepts in conjunction with the design of the space. Items such as the logo, typeface, fonts, and main color scheme (green and orange) were designed to reinforce the design brand.Construction was completed in April 2009.
