Manjatu, an artisanal pasta factory, was originally born in the “Barrio Jardin” in the city of Cordoba, Argentina. As its first flagship retail location, Majantu chose the iconic “Barrio Cerro de las Rosas” in its trendy Tejeda street. Our challenge was to create a long lasting and impacting image to compete in a tight market. And, make the product the star of the show where the customer can see its freshness and quality.
The patrons’ journey is destined to a white box that appears to be supported by a sequence of “ribs.” In “Casa Majantu,” the “ribs” escorts the visitors in their voyage and links the outside with the inside. At the entrance, clients find a garden herbs nodding to the product’s artisanal freshness. Then, an Olive tree emerges symbolizing a key ingredient of pasta. Inside, a Carrera marble worktable reminds patrons how the pasta is hand made. In between the “ribs,” products are displayed for sale. At the end of the line, customers arrive to the “cocina” (kitchen). Here, they find a bar made with natural wood and coated with “subway” tiles and a door made with pieces of glass. Also an antique wooden fridge and a scale on main table complete the ambiance. In sum, white, natural wood, warm lighting, Carrera marble, and a beautiful garden are essential elements to this project.
