This project should be completed soon. So far my most interesting project to date. I really got to explore all kinds of possibilities to explore the form with the restrictions of function. What made this project even more challenging is the fact that it's an existing house. It's always easier to start from scartch, but in this case I was up to the challenge. Something an architect always dreams about is to have an open minded client and it's what I got in this project. The house is located in the middle of the Lavalian suburban area, in Ste-Rose, one of the first villages outside Montreal. The clients wanted to stand out, they felt their house looked too much the same as all the others around. Long story short after serveral proposals, we ended up with a inverted roof. The idea came from the existing roof of the garage I simply extended the line and created the inversion, thus the house is pointing to itself as it stands out in a manifesto, critizing the typical standard house we build across north america, with no site identity...
