HED are the executive architects overseeing the construction of the library designed by Johnson Favaro. HED designed the double facade for heat recovery system and reduction in maintenance costs. The program also includes associated site improvements, including access ramps, walkways, landscaping, and underground utilities. Additional Features: • The new library is a two-story facility with a panoramic ocean view. • Automatic Book-Sorting Machine (the first in the County of Los Angeles Public Library system.) • Adult reading area with a fire place and a view of the ocean. • 9 public access computers in the adult area of the library. • Children’s area including Family Place, an interactive learning wall, 4 early literacy computers, and an additional 8 children’s access computers. • Teen area with 5 teen access computers and a pop-up LED station for gaming and movies. • Meeting Room with a capacity of 100 includes state-of-the-art audiovisual system with remote touch panel controls and a kitchen. • Four study rooms, each study room includes a data projector for laptop connection.
