Malric
Residence is a house for a family of 4 persons to be built in 2009 on a land of
about 800 m2 of the district 9 of Ho
Chi Minh City, in a green area and in front of a small
canal. The constraints are to install the design in a deep land and to respect
a limited budget.
The
purpose of the design is to create a strong interrelation between the house and
its environment in order for the family to always enjoy the direct presence of
the garden.
Thus,
half of the space can use air conditioning (the bedrooms) when the other half
is largely open on the garden and naturally ventilated. The natural ventilation
is also possible in all parts of the house with possible openings at the top of
window.
The
design of the swimming pool emphases this relation between the house and its
garden by crossing the living room and linking the entrance area to the garden
area, bringing the coolness presence of the water and it’s reflect inside the
house.
At
the same time that this part of the house is largely opened to its garden, it
is also well protected against the climate. The protection is first insured by
wood shading panels (both fix and sliding ones) and by a thick roof combining
insulation layers and soil for low plantations.
