The rational was to reflect Ergonomic spaces. the architecture should be related to the exhibition.the Exhibition is about ıce, Art, nordic culture, cold, snow, nature, the beauty of Norway such as Fiyords, mountains, lakes trees.
As you step into the ice world you get a feeling of serenity, calm, peacefulness where everything flows along effortlessly. You are surrounded by spheres and spherical shapes and objects.
Therefore a curvilinear organic concept mimicking ice forms and igloos. Curve forms direct the human movement creating a very soft architecture.
After purchasing your ticket you glide through into the first foyer where you will be given an insight into what you can expect when visiting the exhibition hall.
Second foyer, mountain theme and third foyer forest theme…..
Then we will flow through the cinema where you will receive a 5 minute presentation while sitting in a dark, cool environment.
Having left the cinema , we will take a smooth transition into the climatization chamber , during this time a frozen aquarium.
After collecting your special coat then entering the exhibition. As you enter into the exhibition hall you are shuttled through an ice tunnel.
One inside you are greated by a dark atmosphere only illuminated by the ice sculptures such as a ren deer, a polar beer , an iglo, a Viking house and Viking ship just to name but a few.
At the end of the exhibition you may receive a vitamin drink in an ice glass by a man dressed up as a polar beer, before the leaving the exhibition hall once again passing through an ice tunnel.
Once suitably refreshed and having returned your coat we continue our journey through the remaining stages where we can take a coffee and purchase souveniers and norwegian products and at the same time you can view on alarge tv screen photos of visitors to the exhibition including yourself which can be purchased fron the photographic laboratory.
So just to recap the concept behind this particular design is the smooth, cool, serene atmosphere of the tundra and scandinavia during the winter months.
As you enter you suddenly feel you have been transported into scandinavia as you are surrounded by wood effect. You might have stepped aboard a Viking ship or into a scandinavian sauna.
Wood is specifically used as an important object of nordic culture. Ceiling will also have wooden trellis like ceiling . abstract concpet is rocks and caves and trees in the nature.
more nordic feel. The fantastic lakes, forests and fiyords. And of course the rusticness that is scandinavia.
