Every little girl dreams about a bed under the ceiling. Sometimes dreams come true. Such a solution has got one undeniable advantage – Maja’s bed placed at a mezzanine or a platform has left more space to play and learn in the room.
Rooms for children should be not only functional. What is more, proper decoration, colours and furniture also need to be dedicated to children. However, sometimes it is hard to combine functionality with child's wishes. Architects from 81WAW.PL architectural studio present Maja’s room – a girl who has just started her school education.
The architects have decided to create a bed on the upper deck of specially designed furniture, without an unsafe ladder but with comfortable stairs which lead upstairs. The whole room was designed as “3 in 1”. It is divided into 3 areas to study, play and sleep.
There should be a comfortable table in each study area. It is essential. Maja’s desk is located near the window where natural light is the brightest. The desk is also inventive - has got a rotate top to make getting to a wardrobe easier.
The play area was planned in the central part of the room. Toys are kept in special drawers cupboards under the bed. There is also a big inscription on small doors - “MAJA” sign shows who rules in the room.
In general, 150cm above the floor is a perfect height to read, dream and rest. To reach that place Maja has to climb 5 stairs hidden behind the wall with a mirror.
While arranging room for a child it is worth to ease off fantasy and create something special and unusual. Maja's parents gave her daughter not only functionality but also made her dreams come true.
