Magenta Plains is an art gallery on the Lower East Side occupying a through block retail space with a main entrance on Allen Street and a special projects exhibition space on Orchard Street.

The design included a new custom fabricated steel and mesh staircase. The existing exposed masonry was lime-washed for a translucent white finish. The wood joists of the floor were exposed in the cellar and lighting was integrated between the joists.

This project was executed as Davies Tang and Toews Architecture. Structural Engineering by Robert Silman and Associates. Mechanical Engineering by Vince Liotta. Lighting Design by PHT Lighting.
