Perched atop a hill overlooking the Brazilian countryside near Belo Horizonte, this proposal for a home needed to secure its own water, self ventilate, maximize local materials and skills, and generally tread lightly upon its site, all within a tight budget. Separate public and private blocks frame spectacular views from a dry and shaded central gallery cradled between them. Operable glass panels can alternately protect from or welcome breezes into this gallery as needed.
