trifle*was invited by a leading West End theatre producer based at the Lyceum Theatre in Covent Garden to completely redesign their 250sqm work environment in August 2015. Taking a tired workspace that in no way reflected the creativity within, the brief was to design an environment that enabled an improved working style with a suitably stylish backdrop.
The new space spans two floors with open plan work areas and 5 private offices on the upper floor and reception, meeting spaces and a kitchen / cafe on the lower floor. A bespoke staircase was designed for the centre of the space to assist with the flow between the two floors.
trifle*were encouraged to embrace the theatrical in creating a space that married the practical solutions of a small but busy work space with the drama befitting the history of the setting. Luxurious touches were added with bespoke velvet banquette seating in reception, raw steel crittall windows on all partitions and marble top tulip-style tables in the cafe. Gorgeous studio style lighting was used through the lower floor with black and brass Long John pendants from Rubn. Other feature lights included the Waldorf pendants by Rubn in reception and the Circus pendant by Innermost in the boardroom. A ’STAGE DOOR”light from Rockett St George was added to the meeting room lounge for a nod to the theatre below.
Our most bijou phone booth yet was turned into a feature spot with beautiful Fornasetti wallpaper from Cole and Son. Windows and doors were treated to a makeover in Classic Black by Dulux and satin brass handles were added from A&H Brass.
