Located in Chengdu China on a site of a former rice patty farm that is now converted into a new city development, This site, filled with river and multiple islands, needs numerous bridges to connect one area to another. The project calls for the a design concept for a series of bridges that can be utilized throughout the development. Culturally inspired, the concept is derived and takes cues and forms from the popular rice noodles of Asia . The design of the two bridges engages the micro and macro scale of the indigenous conditions of the site Chengdu in China. These bridges transform a former rice farm into a modern, urban development. The two iconic bridges will be replicated in similar fashion for the over two hundred bridges to be implemented in the development.
