Footprint Architects were employed to undertake the restoration of grade II listed properties on Poole’s old High Street by the cosmetics company LUSH. LUSH, the owners of No.29 had purchased the adjoining No.31 with the view to create a spa facility alongside their existing retail operation. Footprint Architects worked closely alongside the conservation officer and the client to deliver a scheme that was sensitive to the existing buildings and yet met the requirements of a modern spa. The work saw the careful restoration and redecoration of the facade, along with the formation of a new courtyard and cedar cycle shelter, featuring a sedum roof. Internally the two properties were opened into one to provide numerous treatment rooms, a kitchen, showering facilities, and other ancillary accommodation.
