The Infrastructure Project of Ecotourism Trails in the Integrated Management District (DMI) of Luriza, located in Usiacurí, aims to intervene in a protected reserve of tropical dry forest. It focuses on creating and revitalizing trails that allows visitors to explore the ecosystem and its distinct areas, such as Pueblo Viejo, Los Helechos Trail, Arroyo Oscuro Trail, and Sanaguare Trail.
Situated six kilometers from Usiacurí, in the Atlántico department of Colombia, this project covers an area of 837 hectares. It addresses a local need to reactivate and establish new trails integrating diverse ecosystems, connecting people with nature. The project tackles the lack of connectivity among the existing trails and the imperative to comprehensively enhance the territory. The preservation of fauna and flora enables establishing this connection sustainably.
The goals are centered on reinvigorating ecological tourism, establishing informative and habitable spaces, conserving ecosystems, managing tourist influx, crafting suitable furniture, promoting cultural and recreational education, and enhancing people's interaction with the environment. The formal aspect proposes using durable and eco-efficient materials, like wood and porcelain, for trails and furniture. Strategic points along the trails are planned, such as administrative stations, first aid posts, viewpoints, and recreational areas, fostering a harmonious connection between the community and ecosystems, advancing sustainable and nature-respectful tourism.
