The Hospital's Family Life Center is a home-away-from-home for relatives of the young patients. These family members spend hours, days and nights here, waiting for their patient to be healed. Dream of Trains is a small, self-operating kinetic sculpture that shows model trains in endless motion, surrounded by an abstract landscape. The hypnotic effect of watching the trains go around gives kids of all ages a mellowing experience to offset the often difficult process of keeping vigil for a loved one in the Hospital. This successful project is very popular with patients and Hospital staff.
