The award-winning Luleburgaz Bus Terminal symbolizes the transient life in terminals through it canopy-like structure. Derived from its use, the concepts around the bus terminal design combines spatial flexibility, simplicity and fluidity. The structure splits the landscape into three sections, positioning itself diagonally. The area allocated to the terminal space accommodates the number of platforms requested by the municipality. With its 23 foot high ceilings, open layout, and fluid nature that intersects indoors and outdoors, the design allows a transformable structure, suitable for a place that is home to nothing but passages. The simplicity of the structure also reflects on the materials chosen for the construction, with wood being the visual focus. The solid wood surfaces purposefully have openings in the interiors to expose the structural and mechanical system of the property.
