Lucier is a multi-sensory experience that melds sophisticated modern European cuisine with contemporary design. As Chef Pascal Chureau crafts his culinary masterpieces with the utmost attention to detail, the fine dining restaurant was designed to bespeak elegance, subtlety and intimacy.
The dramatic view of Willamette River is the inspiration behind the design concept. The contrast of the river’s natural beauty against the urban environment is weaved throughout the building’s design and sets the mood for the sophisticated interiors. The elegant dining room and the energetic downtown feel of the lounge combine to offer two different experiences.
Around the perimeter of the dining room is a luminous interior canal lined with gold mosaic tiles that creates a tranquil respite amid the hubbub of the city. Lucier’s dramatic, custom designed spiral-shaped, lighting fixtures simulates the waves in the river and highlights the refined cuisine.
A series of glass bridges cross over the interior canal from the lounge into the main dining area and convey a sense of cloistered luxury. Rich tones of beige, bronze and amber, in luxurious materials such as leather, mohair, silk and wood, bring depth and luxury to the dining experience.
A 12-inch deep “graffiti” mural is a sleek urban contrast to the design and serves as a separation between the lounge and main dining room areas. Positioned on a large raised platform amongst mirror-polished stainless steel columns, the lounge is contemporary in its design. Drinks are mixed and served around a 15-foot sphere of diamond shaped, gold-mirror panels. A 36-foot long communal table that is supported by a large mirror-polished, stainless steel “ribbon” that cascades down to the main lounge floor completes the scene.
