The site in the centre of this famous National Trust village has been developed for three small houses for the elderly in front of a car park catering for some of the many visitors Luccombe receives each year. The narrow one-room building depth and the use of a second bedroom partially in the roofspace reflects the form of surrounding cottages. The materials and details are taken directly from local tradition, in particular second hand roof tiles, exposed oak lintols and lime washed walls.
