The workshop, maintenance & the stabling yard buildings were both designed with north facing skylights, which are evenly distributed along the length of the buildings, providing well distributed natural light that will significantly reduce the consumption of artificial lighting. Each of the buildings is integrated with environmentally friendly components and with energy saving systems. The maintenance building is located at the north side of the plot facing the access viaducts of the trains. The lower levels of the building house the technical areas of maintenance, repair, power supply and storage, organized in two blocks on a north-south orientation.
The top level is destined for office and administration and is laid as a east-west block, creating a continuous longitudinal axis.
The whole architectural composition assumes a monumental role, to express the scale and dimension of the LRT operation.
In the corner, a smaller volume houses the visitor centre, with a more human scale.
