We designed the Loyola Jesuit Center campus to fit naturally into the park-like setting of their former Retreat House in Southeast Portland. Six buildings of Northwest regional character provide living and working facilities for 30 Jesuits and guests. The buildings are sited to reinforce the chapel as the focus and to blur the line between interior spaces and the dramatic sylvan landscape. The campus includes office space, two group residences, a common dining hall, chapel, and a conference center. The site serves as the headquarters for the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus, which serves a five-state area.
