With a large area of land, the design studio wants to create connections between family members. With the position of the courtyard and surrounding living spaces, family members always observe and interact with each other while in the house. Vietnam is a country with a tropical monsoon climate, characterized by rainfall and heat. Therefore, shading the building is very important to ensure thermal comfort. The design uses a system of iron louvers to shade the sun, using curved lines to create a soft, unique feeling and still take advantage of the view while still ensuring sun protection. Since then, the villa has been named Louver Villa.
The structural system for hanging the louver system on the second floor must be calculated carefully. The architectural and structural design unit worked together and had a great solution. Part of the enthusiasm is shown in the attached image detail.
The main structural system of the house is Reinforced Concrete. Especially using pre-stressed structure for two horizontal beams to support the louver system.
With the desire to connect members, the villa is divided into three floors with three different priority functions and in which connection is indispensable in both vertical traffic and between different spaces in the house. On the first floor, all family activities revolve around the swimming pool and courtyard, the living room space, kitchen, dining table and garden swimming pool space are related to each other. While the relaxation space is the bathroom and sauna, it is arranged privately on one side. All children's activities when studying, playing, and swimming are within the sight of their parents in the house and are always linked by sound. The second floor is a private space for the homeowner, where the master bedroom is located with full amenities. The dressing room and bathroom spaces are all within comfortable reach. The two children's bedrooms each have their own signature space. All three bedrooms have a common language: the louver system and the balcony. At night, the light in the house peeking through the louver system also makes the design extremely outstanding and unique. The third floor is a dynamic space where there is an entertainment room and represents the homeowner's personal passion, displaying many models and highlighting the homeowner's personality. Outside is a BBQ space for family gatherings. With the louver system on the facade, the design unit hopes to bring a design full of personality to the homeowner, while still maintaining softness and harmony with the surrounding context.
