LOOP - Long Island Cinema Competition
Two interconnected imperatives combine to drive the design forLOOP- to embracing technology in generating visual impact, creating achoreographed ambiance; and to inextricably combine this with a crafted,stimulating physical experience.Reorganizing both program and void in a staggered spiral formation, thisgenerates versatile autonomous spaces, a unified internal circulation, andunrestricted panoramic external views. The building is wrapped around ina steel lattice structure, which “frames” in 3-dimensions, a dynamic openpublic space in the “eye” of the building, that will become an urban focalpoint in Hunters point.
