Loma is located in the urban fabric of Talesh, approximately 7.2 kilometers from the Caspian Sea. While not in direct contact with the shoreline, the presence of the sea is felt in the region’s climate, culture, and spatial atmosphere — a quiet yet persistent influence.
The project was developed through the conceptual separation of floors, both functionally and formally. Each level is treated as an independent layer, resulting in a volumetric composition of soft-edged masses, horizontally offset along the east-west axis. These layers, though structurally grounded, appear to hover—creating a sense of suspension and lightness.
What may initially appear as a random stacking of volumes is in fact guided by an internal logic—responding to structural constraints, natural light, views, and the local context. The intention was to achieve a spatial fluidity within the framework of structural discipline.
The project’s overall form draws indirectly from the character of the nearby sea—not through direct mimicry of waves or coastal lines, but through the idea of impermanence, lateral movement, and layered composition. The sea is not seen, but its essence lingers—much like in the everyday life and memory of the region.
Loma is an exploration in balance: between limitation and expression, between structural necessity and spatial freedom.
