The Merckle/ratiopharm company has erected a new logistic centre for the distribution of pharmaceutical products for its logistics company Transpharm located in Ulm/Donautal.
With about 160 employees, Transpharm transacts the complete distribution for currently nine sales organisations. Ratiopharm products cover 90% of the logistics scope, amounting to about 1.1 million drug product packages daily.
The new logistic centre is comprised of a high-bay warehouse, a push-through rack storage, extensive commissioning areas as well as the administration and personnel service areas for the entire workforce, including an integrated underground garage.
The primary objectives of the building project were the automation of the logistic processing, the extension of the warehouse capacity as well as integration of the administration.
Scherr+Klimke was commissioned with the overall building planning for the new logistic centre with a volume of 350,000 m³ structural space.
