A new cellar door outlet for a boutique winery located in the Cudgegong River valley at Apple Tree Flat near Mudgee. Designed to complement the contemporary image of a young wine brand, this building has been conceived to refer to traditional rural buildings and open up to its setting and the environment.
Designed as a belvedere to the surrounding vineyards and mountain landscape. The Tasting Hall and terrace read as one space with views out all round to the landscape.
The building brings together architecture, wine and food into a single experience. A contemporary architectural expression for a cellar door is rare in the Mudgee wine region dominated by rustic buildings. This building extends the relationship of architecture and the landscape.
