This unit is located on the last floor of a residential apartment. Although the area of the half-storey had been included in the title deed, the maximum and minimum height of the roof slope was respectively equal to 2 meters and 90 centimeters, which made the space difficult, and in some parts impossible to use. Thus, one of the most important goals in remodeling the place was to employ specific engineering means to optimize the space through increasing the roof height; additionally, in order to modify the house according to the owner’s life style, the course of the staircase was changed and a bathroom was added to the half-storey. The material and the form of the interior architectural elements were selected with the purpose of creating the best possible space by means of architecture rather than the furniture.
