Utilizing different levels and steps, we were able to create a variety of spatial experiences in a simple but high ceilinged rooftop apartment. The kitchen is raised on a low platform, allowing the solid oak butcherblock work to function at counter height on the working side, but as a low seated bar from the livingroom side. A long corridor terminates in a study niche, with playfully stepped shelves that climb up to the steeply slanted ceiling.
The bedroom presents a raised platform above the walk in closet, with a low window that allows the occupants to peer at the cityscape from a slit window.
