The client is a women's accessories designer that will live alone in this apartment. She requested that it had plenty of warmth, modernity and design. The main challenge was to attend the client program in a small and integrated area! The initial architectural plans of this apartment contemplated a Living-room with balcony; a Dining-room; a Kitchen, all of them integrated, a Toilete; a Service-room; a Storeroom and a Suite-room (a room with a bathroom). And those spaces weren’t enough for the client. She needed an office; a Cellar; a linen closet, etc. The unique solution was design exclusive furniture with flexibility to multi-use. The first step to increase the small area of this apartment, with two floors, was adding the balcony to the living and the creation of a mezzanine valuing the living room's double height. This architectural solution created an extension to her bedroom, as a corner reading with a beautiful view for the valley and allowed her to have a place for a linen closet. And, to attend all of her needs to store her things, we did cabinets and shelving using up the area under the stairs, on the first floor. This design solution gave support to the Dining Room and Cellar and allowed us to create a countertop for a home-office. The toilet was valued with new countertops, new coatings and lighting. As the environments are all integrated all the furniture were chosen with harmony and unity between them! Another detail: as we created the mezzanine in her bedroom which has visual integration with the living room on the lower floor, we created a curtain with double finish, thus ensuring the privacy of the room and seal the lighting when she needs!
