Lloyds Tea House V 2.0
The Brief.
A M Architecture & More was approached to design the second outlet for the brand Lloyds Tea House, a popular restaurant which serves 100 + different varieties of teas & mixed cuisine food.
Lloyds Tea House has been a successful & popular restaurant in Chennai designed by the in house design team. The brief was to create the second outlet which would become the benchmark for their upcoming outlets and to establish their brand by enhancing the existing ambience.
The Challenge
The building had a low roof and hence false ceiling had to be avoided and the pillars in the center of the space had to incorporated into design.
The Solution.
Owing to lack of height we along with Lite Lab India, lighting design consultants, conceptualised exposed conduits for electrical services and gave them a dash of colour to convert service conduits into design elements. Light fixtures were locally manufactured and all woodwork were manufactured by Orange Elephant, a turnkey contractor.
The first outlet had a vintage wall which had to brought back in here to hint the resemblance of the brand and hence antiques were collected from various flea markets to accessorise the space.
The exposed conduits gave birth to the idea of having vintage switch and sockets and hence yesteryear ceramic switch sockets were added to fit with the theme.
