LK Design Hotel

Located in one of the most prestigious areas of Santa Catarina Island, the LK Design Hotel, designed by Methafora Arquitetura, a member of the Methafora Group, establishes a new architectural landmark in Florianópolis. Positioned between the bustling Avenidas Beiramar Norte, Othon Gama Deça, and Bocaiúva Street, the project occupies a prime urban site, featuring three main façades that interact with the vibrancy of the urban context, seamlessly integrating into the cityscape.

Commissioned by the construction firm WKoerich, the LK Design Hotel has become a benchmark for the capital of Santa Catarina. The architectural concept maximizes façade occupation with a linear design and bold approach, using expansive glass planes with innovative technology that ensures high environmental comfort. The upper floors feature custom modular frames, creating a rhythmic sequence that unifies the building’s appearance and enhances its impact within the urban fabric.

The main challenge of the project was its L-shaped lot, characterized by its narrow, elongated form and mandatory setbacks on three sides. To overcome these constraints, the strategy involved creating a fluid integration between public and private spaces. At the ground level, a generous canopy extends over the public walkway, sheltering the path while demarcating the main and service entrances.

The building comprises 16 floors, including two basements, ground level, mezzanine, and 14 floors in the tower, culminating in a rooftop with a pool and gym. The LK Design Hotel presents the ideal balance between room capacity, convention space, common areas, support, services, and leisure facilities, establishing a distinguished urban hotel that offers the highest standards of quality and comfort to discerning users.

The ground floor features a double-height ceiling that enhances the space and marks the transition between the initial floors, which house the reception, mezzanine access with event rooms, lounge bar, and restaurant. In the upper floors, the rooms are organized within a rigorous structural modulation, while a circulation area illuminated by asymmetrical windows enhances the atmosphere of the transition area. The choice of neutral tones for the northern façades underscores the sobriety and quality of the interior spaces.

The main façade, with a privileged view of Baía Norte, accommodates the most exclusive suites, offering an unparalleled visual experience with the sea in the background. Meanwhile, the side façades, also with sea views, present design variations in the rooms, some conceived by partner studios, allowing for aesthetic diversity aligned with the concept of exclusivity.

The rooftop is another highlight of the project, featuring a spacious gym in warm tones and a covered lap pool. The masonry pergola surrounding the top floor adds an element of structure and privacy, while the panoramic view offers an unrivaled experience of the city. Above the water reservoir, there is an emergency/rescue helipad, complementing the state-of-the-art fire safety systems throughout the building, meeting the most stringent safety standards.
