KLINGMANN Architects & Brand Consultants aim in this research project was the design of a customized prefabricated house, that caters to the changing preferences, live/work scenarios, and family structures of the post-Fordist economy. Living+ is no longer about standardizing options, but about personalizing lifestyles—rethinking issues of standardization into customization. As more and more people leave the structure of rigid labor markets, they are forced to reconstruct their social and organizational practices, determining their own temporal and spatial routines. Living+ is a unit composed as a system, a matrix of options that can be selected, combined and transformed by the occupants as they make use of them. Living+ offers a choice of prototypes and organizations that are customized according to the specific needs of the client.
