The clients had spent their summers with their family in the exiting camp for several decades before they came to us for an updated solution. The existing structure lies 50 feet from the sandy shore of Little Sebago Lake on the North side. The clients wanted more sleeping room for their expanding family and higher quality living spaces both inside and out. They also requested a low maintenance exterior with natural interior finishes that were comfortable, not pretentious. Due to shoreland zoning, we chose to maintain the existing footprint of the existing camp and reinforce the existing concrete block foundation before adding a 2-story structure over the reinforced foundation to take advantage of the 30% expansion we were allowed through the Maine Shoreland Zoning ordinance. We ended up with an open living environment on the first floor with 4 compact bedrooms, 2 baths, and an open, daylight basement for lake toy storage and an extra living space for the younger generation.
