The project is a Learning and a Language Center for kids located in Cholula.
The main idea emerges as a dialogue between the sun movement and regular floods on rainy season. It is a single 5x5M square for therapies facing south and three services areas (a tiny warehouse, a small kitchen, and a bathroom) facing north.
The proposal raises the Language Center approximately 50CM to create an air chamber between the building and the ground, so it does not flood on rainy season. Furthermore, its design allows ZD Architecture to cross through the air chamber plumbing and sanitary installation from the kitchen and bathroom to reach the closest maintenance hole located in the area. The void also prevents damp and heat loss.
The requests are minimum, and the architectural program is simple which leads to a stronger and powerful concept. The project becomes an infinite plane that remind us of the Moebius Strip or even the Relativity lithograph print by Dutch artist M.C. Escher. It develops into a floor-main access-ramp-wall-cantilever-wall-stair-floor and main access again.
