As the trend in the US leads to bigger and better, this four-module weeHouse is a study in poetry and efficiency. Designed from the inside out, each element of program uses a finely tailored amount of space culminating in a 2200 SF, 3 bedroom, 3 bath home. By grouping these elements strategically, each box forms a unique length. These varied lengths create overhanging cantilevers and roof decks, which break up the scale of the house and begin to create a dialog between the public and private realm within a typical urban lot. The exterior was finished on-site with cedar as well as “Container” siding painted a rich brown. Additional site finishing by local skilled craftsmen included the balconies/porches, foundation (which includes a two-car garage along with family room, utility room and bathroom. In 2007, the modules delivered “as-is” ran approximately $127 SF.
