elua® reimagines all the exterior circulation of the project. But beyond a technical solution, the studio conceived the proposal as a new, elegant, and graphic appearance that reinvents the campus.
Saint-Jean Secondary School, located in the center of Tonneins, no longer meets current accessibility standards (PMR). elua® rethought all exterior circulation to comply with regulations and ensure flawless functionality. Beyond this technical response, the studio saw the project as an opportunity to create a new dynamic for the school.
With the Ligne Claire concept, the studio developed a new architectural language that permeates the entire school. Precise functional interventions take form of a technical metal assembly that runs through the exterior spaces and branches throughout the campus. These new architectural lines, inspired by Hergé’s clear-line drawing style, define the contours of the school in perspective and unify the heterogeneous elements into a joyful and colorful whole.
The enhancement of vegetation, solar protection, and redesigned signage were explored and conceived as dynamic strategies to create a fully-fledged architectural project, open to the future.
